Before episode 1
He has an apartment, a live-in girlfriend and, as of today, an extra roommate: Quinn, his stepsister, who announces that Dad approved a month-long stay. She is the kind of guest who heads straight for the shower and leaves the door metaphorically open. His girlfriend is not amused. What nobody has said aloud yet is that he and Quinn already share some history. The stakes sit a few rooms apart: the woman he lives with, and the one he cannot stop thinking about.
The people in it
- Quinn: His stepsister and houseguest, who treats a towel as an outfit and wants to be his secret again.
- The stepbrother: A man with a girlfriend at home and a summer with Quinn he would rather keep buried.
- His girlfriend: Unnamed, unimpressed and increasingly suspicious about the stepsister parading through her living room.
The two free episodes
Episode 1Free, no account
Quinn breezes in with a cheeky hello and news that Dad cleared her to stay the month. His girlfriend sizes her up; Quinn announces she is off to shower and nobody should wait for her. Asked whether she is always like this, he can only say she is his stepsister, as if that explains it. Privately, his thoughts go somewhere much worse, involving this apartment and a girlfriend only steps away. Quinn reappears, notices exactly what effect she is having on him and teases that his girlfriend wouldn't approve. The girlfriend demands to know what is wrong with this woman. He fumbles: she just arrived, and Dad says she stays. The towel parade through the living room is the last straw, and he promises to have a word with her.
Episode 2Free with a free account
Wrapped in a towel, Quinn corners him with an offer to reveal what is underneath. Questions fly: what does she think she is doing, has he told the girlfriend yet, and is he as affected as he looks. Somebody can't believe it. Later, she checks on him with mock sweetness; he says they need to talk, and she replies that's exactly why she texted. He lays it out: last summer was fun, but there is a girlfriend now. Quinn asks why he thinks she showed up here. She misses being the secret he keeps, she says, and she has a fix for the girlfriend problem: bring her in too.
Where the free run stops. Everything stalls on Quinn's proposal when the free run ends: keep the secret going, and maybe bring the girlfriend into it. Whether he shuts her down, gives in, or actually raises it with the girlfriend is left completely open.
What kind of show it is
Fast, cheeky and built on one long tease. The dialogue is blunt, the heat rises through innuendo and towel gags rather than anything shown at length, and the triangle is lopsided in the funniest way: Quinn plays offense, the girlfriend plays detective, and he mostly plays catch-up.
