Before episode 1
Her workplace is an arcade, and her favorite pastime is the customers. She sells game credits at whatever rate suits her mood, sizes up every player who wanders in, and doesn't much care who might be waiting for them. An older man who says he has known her father for years keeps checking on her, uneasy about the kind of people she deals with. She would prefer his worry, and her dad's, to stay out of her way.
The people in it
- The counter attendant: Runs the arcade floor with a wink, cuts private deals, and loves winning more than anything.
- The player with a girlfriend: A customer she singles out, who mentions a girlfriend waiting somewhere and still says yes.
- Her father's old friend: An older man who calls her sweetheart, frets about the clientele, and asks her to watch herself.
The two free episodes
Episode 1Free, no account
It starts on the arcade floor, where she dares a player to show how long he can hold out. At the counter she quotes a cash-strapped customer a discount just for him, and when he stammers that he can't cover it, she invites him into the back for a reward. That exchange fizzles. She shrugs and picks a new favorite, a guy she decides will be entertaining. Once they are alone, she asks whether he feels like playing. He mentions a girlfriend who is probably waiting on him, considers that for about a second, and agrees. She orders him not to look away. Then a worried voice calls out for Pixie, asking what is going on, and gets no answer.
Episode 2Free with a free account
An old friend of her dad's pulls her aside, calls her sweetheart, and asks her to be wary of the clientele, since that is all he wants. Talk then turns to keeping one secret from her dad, just this once. Her own philosophy follows, in narration: the guys show up to play their games, but the real games are hers. A shy player catches her eye, and she promises to handle everything herself. They square off at a machine, he holds his own, she demands a rematch and wins, then gloats that he never had a prayer. Finally she pulls him somewhere out of sight, with only minutes left on the clock.
Where the free run stops. Two minutes is all the pair has when the free stretch runs out, hidden somewhere off the floor. Whether anyone comes looking, and whether her father's friend learns what kind of games she really runs, is left hanging.
What kind of show it is
Short, playful, and mostly flirtation: she does nearly all the talking, teasing players at the counter and trash-talking them at the machines. The heat sits in her come-ons more than anything shown. Her competitive streak drives the dynamic, and the men trail after her, a bit stunned to be chosen.
