Before episode 1
Somewhere on a long, sun-baked road, a man in a truck spots a woman by the roadside and can hardly believe she accepts a ride. She checks first that he does not murder people, takes his word for it, and climbs in. Fifty miles behind them, at a filling station, sits the man she just walked out on. He is heading home, two hundred miles away, and she is happy to go wherever he goes. It is hot, she is sweaty, and the nearest motel is forty miles ahead.
The people in it
- The driver: A good-natured man with a truck who rarely gets company like this and flusters easily.
- The hitchhiker: Fresh from a breakup and bold with it, she wants a shower, distance and a kinder man.
- Tyler: The ex she abandoned at a roadside stop, furious on the phone and, she says, obsessed with winning.
The two free episodes
Episode 1Free, no account
Her first question is whether he is a killer; his no is apparently good enough. She will go wherever he is headed, she says, and explains the hurry: she dumped her boyfriend at the last filling station, then catches herself and calls him her ex. He hands her something, figuring she needs it. She is sweating and blames the sun, then announces she badly needs a shower. He mentions a motel forty miles on, where he planned to stop anyway. She sees no reason to wait. At the motel there is a single room available, and while he fumbles for some other arrangement, she says one room will do. He starts to object; she tells him not to worry, she does not bite, and waits to see whether he follows her in.
Episode 2Free with a free account
The room is hardly five stars, and she does not mind. Has he ever taken a woman to a motel before? His stammering is answer enough, and she finds it cute. On her way to the shower, she tells him not to act strange. Her phone rings first: Tyler, demanding to know where she is. She is gone for good, she tells him, and when he complains that she left him, she declares them finished. She vents about men like him who always need to win and wishes more were as kind as her driver, who is only trying to help. Then she wants a towel. Closer, she says, then closer again, reminding him she does not bite.
Where the free run stops. The towel request, and her third order to come closer, make up the final beat of the free stretch, with the towel still between them. Whether the nice guy stays nice, and whether Tyler is truly out of the picture, is left open.
What kind of show it is
Road-trip flirtation, quick and playful, pairing a bashful driver with a woman who enjoys being the bold one. Talk drives it, mostly her teasing and his stammering, and the heat climbs with proximity: one cab, one room, one shower. The angry ex on the phone adds a jolt of drama without slowing anything down.
