Before episode 1
Jake is getting married in two days, and his closest friend is the best man. The bride, Bri, is someone the best man has clearly known, and noticed, for a long while. Jake is busy putting out fires with the caterer, which leaves his friend on dress duty. Everyone wants a smooth weekend. The best man wants to stay loyal and keep his eyes to himself. Bri seems less certain about the man she chose, and the timing could not be worse.
The people in it
- The best man: Jake's best friend and the narrator, quietly hung up on the bride and trying to stay decent.
- Bri: The bride, two days from her vows, restless and testing whether the best man ever wanted her.
- Jake: The groom, cheerful, distracted by the caterer and prone to dozing off at the worst moments.
The two free episodes
Episode 1Free, no account
Narration sets the clock: two days until his best friend marries, and the bride is in view. Jake hails his best man with a reminder of the countdown and calls out to his beautiful bride, who says she is fine. Busy with the caterer, Jake assigns his friend to help Bri with her fitting. Bri teases him about whether his friend's bride still gets him excited, then asks him upstairs to help with the gown, joking that Jake is hopeless with zippers and he is better at this. Jake, she adds, is asleep; he always drifts off. Then the real line: in six years he never once made a move. He tells her to stop, that she was Jake's. Her reply is a question: was she?
Episode 2Free with a free account
Torn in two, the best man admits she is gorgeous and insists he cannot. She wishes him good night, title included. He tells himself to keep walking and fails to tear his eyes away. When he says they should not do this, Bri agrees, and explains that this is precisely the thrill. She wants that dress off before the groom returns, and she wants his help. Jake's voice drifts in from elsewhere, asking whether she has seen his keys. Bri offers the best man a hand getting started, then asks whether he is truly sure he does not want his best friend's bride.
Where the free run stops. Bri's question is the last thing heard, with her fiancé hunting for his keys within earshot. Does the best man answer with his conscience or his hands, and how close is the groom to walking in?
What kind of show it is
A tight, guilty pre-wedding temptation piece. Most of it is inner monologue and pointed questions from Bri, with very little action and a lot of looking. She is calm and deliberate; he is torn and talking himself in circles, while the groom's offhand presence keeps the stakes uncomfortably close.
