Dad signs off, and Riley requests a big souvenir. At bedtime she climbs in beside him and spins a yarn about a stepmom drifting from room to room in silk and a stepson too restless to sleep. Again she offers to stop. He never does. Nobody needs to know, she tells him, and asks him to lie back for a lesson of her own.
