Before episode 1
Breaking both hands has left him unable to handle even the most private tasks on his own. His wife arranges home care through an agency and reassures him, half joking, that the nurse will be in her sixties and no temptation at all. She leaves the door unlocked and heads out for the day. The woman who walks in is nowhere near sixty, and she takes her duties, especially the special ones, very seriously.
The people in it
- The patient: Married, both hands out of action, frustrated, and very poorly guarded against temptation.
- The nurse: Agency-sent, confident, and nothing like the older caregiver promised, with her own idea of treatment.
- His wife: Hired the help sight unseen, checks in by phone, and plans to be home by seven.
The two free episodes
Episode 1Free, no account
His wife's parting news: the nurse arrives at nine, the agency is sending a woman in her sixties, so there will be nobody worth flirting with. He jokes that it's a pity and reminds her the door is open. Alone, he grumbles in voiceover about breaking both hands and the indignities that follow. The nurse arrives and spots her patient in a heartbeat, and he points out she is clearly not sixty. She apologizes for the letdown; he says he will cope. She excuses herself to change into proper attire, and he points her down the hall. Then she begins her checkup, notices that more than his arm is feeling the strain, and promises her special patient special care.
Episode 2Free with a free account
The examination begins with a reflex check and an instruction to open wide. His wife calls to ask whether the nurse showed up and whether she is nice. Very thorough, he reports. She says she loves him and will be back by seven; he says it back. As soon as the call ends he reminds the nurse that he is married, and she says she knows. Seven, she notes, is a long way off. Complaining she can't reach properly, she shifts for a better angle, checks his pressure, finds it up since morning, and tells him to relax so she can show him what her special care really means.
Where the free run stops. Seven o'clock is still hours away when the free episodes end, and the nurse is about to demonstrate her idea of special care. How far the treatment goes, and whether his wife ever finds out, is left for later.
What kind of show it is
Sitcom setup, adult payoff. The dialogue is quick and full of medical double meanings, and the heat leans on his helplessness: he literally cannot use his hands. The nurse is cool, in control, and amused; he is a married man arguing with himself and losing.
