Before episode 1
The narrator's wife has taken in her stepsister, Billy, until she lands a job. Billy settles into the guest room, the one with blue walls and a mirrored closet door. Her first night there, he looks longer than he should, and she sees him do it. She says nothing to his wife. What she says to him is another matter, and she starts saying it the next morning.
The people in it
- The husband: The narrator, a married man caught looking, who finds it harder and harder to look away.
- Billy: His wife's stepsister, between jobs, who counts his glances and treats them as an invitation.
- The wife: Hospitable and unsuspecting, she readies the guest room, hosts movie night and dozes off.
The two free episodes
Episode 1Free, no account
Right up front, the husband confesses that his wife's stepsister caught him looking and never told his wife. His wife checks whether the guest room has towels, since Billy is staying until she finds work. He has handled it. Billy arrives that night. Next morning she greets him as her brother-in-law and recites the details back to him: the blue paint, the closet mirror. He looked for nine seconds, she informs him; she kept count. A call from mom pulls Billy away, but she finishes her point first. Most men look away. He did not, and she likes that. Does he enjoy the view? Next time, she says, he should simply walk in.

Movie night. His wife dozes off on his shoulder, while her stepsister stays wide awake. Billy notes that he was about to knock, before the film starts and his wife waves her onto the couch with them. Saved by his wife, Billy remarks. Under cover of the movie, Billy turns up the pressure: the film is getting to her, she knows he wants her, and she promises to keep the noise down if they do it right there. His wife stirs and checks on her. He tells Billy to stop, that this is wrong. She points out that his body disagrees. Then she names the laundry room, right now, and tells him not to wake his wife.
Where the free run stops. Billy's summons to the laundry room ends the free stretch while his wife sleeps against his shoulder. Whether he follows or stays planted on the couch, and whether the wife is as asleep as she looks, are the open questions.
What kind of show it is
Quiet and risky, built on looking and being looked at. Dialogue is sparse and knowing, Billy does nearly all the pushing, and the husband mostly freezes. The heat comes from being inches from a sleeping wife, which keeps every scene balanced between temptation and getting caught.
