Before episode 1
Somewhere, a game runs on simple rules: players race for a gate and win their freedom if they reach it, while hunters chase them down. Any hunter who helps a player dies alongside them. Delilah Cain is a hunter, armed and bleeding from the arm. The man at the end of her weapon is a player who happens to be a doctor. He needs a few seconds of mercy; she needs that arm treated. Neither can afford to trust the other, and an unseen voice enforces every rule.
The people in it
- Delilah Cain: A hunter in the game, wounded in the arm, ordered to kill the man she spared.
- The doctor: A player running for the gate who trades medical help for a five-second head start.
- The game's voice: An unseen announcer who sets the rules and counts down the seconds to a kill.
The two free episodes
Episode 1Free, no account
Cornered, he swears he can make it; she orders him onto his knees. He notices she is bleeding. She accuses him of stalling, and he admits it, adding that he is a doctor. An announcement lays down the rules: players who reach the gate go free, and any hunter who aids one shares their fate. She marches him inside with a weapon at his back, and he asks her to stop aiming at him. His pitch is a trade: he patches her arm, she lets him go. He needs something to bind the wound and turns around slowly to work, checking whether she wants him to stop. Finished, he earns a five-second head start. As she starts counting, the voice orders Delilah to kill him.
Episode 2Free with a free account
The command repeats, louder, and Delilah does not obey. Someone urges him to go, fast. He asks if she is hurt, and she wants to know if he has lost his mind: he had already reached the gate. He explains that he spotted someone taking aim at her. She can't believe he came back; he says leaving her was never an option. Then the voice addresses Delilah Cain by full name: kill him within five seconds, or they both die. The countdown begins. As the numbers fall, he asks her to look at him, and the final second arrives.
Where the free run stops. It all freezes on the count of one, with both their lives forfeit if she hesitates. What Delilah chooses in that last second is the whole question, and the answer sits beyond the free part.
What kind of show it is
A survival thriller first and a romance second. Dialogue is clipped and urgent, countdowns set the pace, and the attraction lives in trust rather than touch. There is almost no heat so far; the charge comes from a captor and a captive saving each other under orders to kill.
