The episode closes on him struggling against someone's grip, demanding release, and calling out for his queen.

Before the court, Veyra treats him as if he is nobody. When someone asks who this human is, a sneer about peasants is thrown his way instead of an introduction, and he broods over how she cried his name hours earlier. Yet when someone lays hands on him, she threatens to burn that person's home with their family still inside. Alone again, he complains that in front of others he counts for nothing. She corrects him: he is hers in public too, but only in private does she let him feel it. Titles are dropped for the night. She reminds him that his three predecessors broke and starts another warning, which is cut short.
