Before episode 1
Owen Hale is short on cash and already being chased for rent when he spends five hundred dollars on a single pill. The result is a secret ability: he can see through clothing, and apparently all the way down to bone. His landlady, Mrs. Alvarez, wants her money by Friday, and suddenly he finds her much easier to be patient with. The woman from the lab expects follow-ups, data and obedience. She is also the one person who seems completely sure his gift gives him no advantage over her.
The people in it
- Owen Hale: A broke renter whose five-hundred-dollar pill lets him see through clothes, skin and bone.
- The woman from the lab: Cool and clinical, she pushes Owen to test his new sight, using her own body as the target.
- Mrs. Alvarez: Owen's landlady, patient but firm, who wants the rent in her hands by Friday.
The two free episodes
Episode 1Free, no account
Five hundred dollars buys one pill, and Owen calls it the smartest money he ever spent. Someone notices he looks ready to faint; he insists he feels fantastic. In voiceover, he compares it to a superpower that only he knows about. His landlady, Mrs. Alvarez, reminds him that rent is owed once more and pins him down to Friday. He can't stop grinning, and when she asks why, he compliments how good she looks today. She repeats the deadline. Then a woman calls him Mr. Hale and scolds him for skipping a follow-up, though day two has arrived on schedule. She tells him, with total confidence, that he cannot see through her.
Episode 2Free with a free account
Seeing the bones inside his own skull has rattled Owen, and the vision won't stop. Nosebleeds are expected, the woman says, handing him a drink that seems to be more of the same. To measure how far his sight goes, she sets up a game he doesn't want: for every mark he finds on her, she removes one piece of clothing. He finds a birthmark under her skirt, on the back of the left thigh. Correct. Next he describes a snake tattoo along her right ribs, hidden by her top. Correct again. She ends the session and expects him at the lab at nine tomorrow. Then he mentions a scar he can see too, and reminds her of the rules.
Where the free run stops. The free run stops with Owen calling out that scar and holding her to the rules she invented. Whether she pays up, and what the lab has planned for him at nine the next morning, stays off screen.
What kind of show it is
Sci-fi temptation with a lab-thriller edge. Half of it is Owen's anxious narration and half is a cool, controlled woman putting him through tests. The heat comes from a clever strip game rather than anything graphic, and the upper hand keeps changing between the test subject and the woman running the tests.
