Before episode 1
Jake and his best friend Tyler are flicking through a dating app when Tyler's mother, Josie, appears on screen, and Tyler demands an instant pass. Jake says he complied. He didn't. That same night he's crashing at Tyler's house, under the roof of the woman he just liked, hoping she hasn't seen the notification and praying Tyler never finds out what his best friend did with one thumb.
The people in it
- Jake: Tyler's closest friend, who fibbed about a single swipe and must now spend the night nearby.
- Tyler: Jake's buddy, mortified by his mother's dating profile and blissfully unaware of what Jake did.
- Josie: Tyler's mother, a confident woman who saw the swipe and is more amused than offended.
The two free episodes
Episode 1Free, no account
Tyler spots his own mother on the app and tells Jake, in no uncertain terms, to pass. Jake swears he did. At the house, greetings go around, Jake manages a polite hello to Josie, and his inner voice notes she looks even better than her photos. Tyler asks whether Jake can stay the night. Josie agrees without fuss and goes to set up the spare room. Alone with his thoughts, Jake spirals: he liked his friend's mother's profile, maybe she hasn't noticed, and Tyler absolutely cannot learn about it. Then Josie comes back, lets him know she's aware of his swipe, and asks how the real thing compares.
Episode 2Free with a free account
A hesitant yes is Jake's answer. From elsewhere in the house, Tyler hollers for him to hurry up. Josie tells him to go, then mentions she's about to shower and finds showering solo dull. Jake improvises a quick bathroom excuse for Tyler. His inner monologue swings between disbelief and delight as it dawns on him that his best friend's mom truly wants him. Josie's only instruction is to keep it down. For a guy trying to hide a single swipe, he is doing a spectacular job of making things worse, and Tyler is still waiting on him somewhere nearby.
Where the free run stops. Josie's call for silence is the cliffhanger, with Tyler still expecting Jake back any second. How long does a bathroom excuse hold up, and what happens if Tyler comes looking for his friend?
What kind of show it is
Sitcom-paced taboo with almost no plot to slow it down. Lines are sparse, the jokes come from Jake's internal panic, and Josie stays calm and in charge. More heat than talk, built entirely on the risk of a best friend walking in at the wrong moment.
