Before episode 1
Diana coaches a football team owned by her husband, a man who, as the rookie sees it, owns both the franchise and her. The rookie in question has never been any good at following instructions. It is the fourth quarter, the team is trailing by four, and Coach has called a handoff. He has other ideas. Diana, for her part, is as strict as she is striking, and she has her own methods for players who freelance.
The people in it
- Diana: The head coach, fierce on the sideline and fond of handing out discipline in private.
- The rookie: A player nicknamed Rook who wins games his own way and cannot stop staring at Coach.
- The owner: Diana's husband and the team's owner, who pulls her aside for a talk right after the win.

Fourth quarter, four points down, and the call from the sideline is a handoff. The rookie, who admits orders have never been his strength, keeps the ball and makes his own play. A teammate fumes that the ball should have come his way, while the rookie privately notes how good Coach looks angry. Diana breaks it up, sends one player off to cool down, and tells the rookie that was not the call. A man asks Diana for a word: her husband, the rookie explains, who owns the franchise and, in his view, her too. She orders the rookie to run the stairs, then come see her for discipline, with no victory party tonight. He sputters that he won and is being punished for it.

Approval comes first: Diana says she likes that he does things his own way. Good, she adds, and orders him to kneel. While he wonders if this is really happening, the real punishment arrives: washing the team's uniforms alone. She is off to the showers to dress for the victory party he will miss. He tells himself not to follow, not even to look, then insists he is just tidying gear and minding his business. He cannot believe what he is seeing and suspects she is toying with him. She calls him Rook and invites him to join her. His brain short-circuits: the showers, no clothes, the owner's wife. Certain he is a dead man, he answers yes, ma'am.
Where the free run stops. Agreeing to join Diana in the showers is the rookie's last move in the free part, made with full knowledge that she is married to the man who pays his salary. What waits for him there, and whether the owner hears about it, is left for later.
What kind of show it is
Sports-movie bones, locker-room intentions. The rookie's frantic inner commentary carries most of it, Diana keeps a straight face while bending every rule, and the owner hovers in the background as a threat. Brisk, funny and mostly talk so far, with the heat ramping up toward the showers.
